I haven’t done  landscape photography for a while. Instead I’ve been concentrating on fiddling around with my Xpan doing streetphotography (or trying to!). I’ve also been trying my at hand wet film processing to boot, so going out there and doing landscape has been down my list of priorities – which must be a first in a long time.

So it was with some trepidation that I ventured out after finishing work early to go poppy field hunting near Sheffield on Thursday.  Having borne no fruit asking on Twitter, I turned to Google searches and eventually with the right asking of the question (i.e. search string) I found this field near Staveley.  Spent a pleasant 90mins wandering around the edges.  Its about the first time in a long time that I wished I had colour film in my Xpan.  Instead I had Ilford FP 4 loaded, and I will probably process it this weekend.  Black and White poppy fields – an interesting prospect.

Poppy Update 28/3/2015

Over the years a number of people have asked “Where are the poppies?” and I have always answered.  Below is a map of where the field was and how to get there – though I do understand that the following year the poppies weren’t there – so go under advisement.
