Away from the lovely sandy beaches at Luskentyre on Harris in the Outer Hebrides, at the end of the road, beyond the beach there lies a fort, a wheel house, a blackhouse and this unusual rock arrangement. I’m sure its the Victorian’s having a giggle at our expense, but maybe not. However, I’m sure this rock didn’t happen to end up perched so perfectly on top of three other lesser rocks on its own.
As ever with what I think has been the 3rd wettest and the 4th dullest July on record for the Outer Hebrides I err’d towards using a long exposure to create a little bit of drama in the skies.

Update 12/9/2016 – following an exchange of messages on Facebook, I’ve found out that this area is called Àird Grothadnais. No further on though in understanding more about this structure.
