A quick dash out before work to see if my favourite mill pond had iced over (it hadn’t),  allowed me to enjoy a wintery moonlight walk with the dog in the pre-dawn light of the Peak District.  Save for owls in the old oaks around me the place with a thin veneer of snow was still and quiet.
