THE PEAK DISTRICT

landscape photography from the peak district

The Peak District rests between Manchester in the West, Sheffield in the East and Derby to the South East.  (Allegedly) Taking its name from the Pecsaetan tribe, the area is split between the White Peak and Dark Peak – areas of limestone and moorland respectively

The landscape photography of the Peak District in this gallery features a selection of  photographs from around The Peaks, including Padley Gorge, Bolehill, Stanage, the White Peak and the Dark Peak.  The Peak District (or Peaks) is a beautiful landscape to photograph.  I find the Peaks quite a challenging area to photograph, there are no real cliche like landscape photography honey pots full of obvious shots to take, which is why I prefer (on the whole) a more intimate approach.
