Path – a way or track laid down for walking or made by continual treading

In October, I had the opportunity to return to what could be my favourite part of the Lake District with my photographer friend Dav Thomas.  The area in question was Eskdale in the Western Lakes.  Not as heavily frequented as the more readily accessible parts of the Lakes.  Which in a way makes it perfect for a crowd hating photographer who loves whisky (did I mention the range of whiskies at the Brook House Inn?).

Whilst there, we explored a small wood.  The circular path around the wood guided us around what appeared to be a seldom visited (but still managed) woodland.  This is that story.
