Field Notes
Spoil heaps and abandoned buildings feature heavily at Cwmorthin Quarry which is on one side of Llyn Cwmorthin near Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales. Here trail bikers and the drone of their little engines clash with the silence of a once bustling quarry complete with near by chapel. Fingers of spoil stretch out in to the lake like veins in your hand.
