Despite living next door to the Peak District, it has been a good number of months since I was last able to be out in the Peaks taking photographs – the small matter of campervanning around Europe may have been a factor 🙂  So it was good to get up early today and make the walk up to Over Owler Tor in the pre-dawn light with the dog.

For a weekday, I was surprised to find other photographers up there (as well as people sleeping out in their sleeping bags).  I made my apologies and skipped in front and took my shots from behind a rock and hopefully out of their shots!

I’ve visited this spot a couple of times. The unfinished mill stone and the path leading upwards provide inspiration –  a visual anchor and chain linking to Higger Tor in the background.
